Membership of the APLD is available in several packages with the key differences outlined below.
Full Membership - £25 per annum
This is open to all those working, or with an interest, in learning disability services. Benefits of membership include:
- Receipt of "Learning Disability”, the quarterly journal of the Association
- Reduced fees for attendance at APLD conferences and events
- Attendance at the AGM of APLD
- Full voting rights at the AGM
- An opportunity to influence the Association’s policy and practice, and contribute to national debates, consultation and legislation
Concessionary Membership - £12.50 per annum
This is open to people who are unwaged, or in receipt of a bursary or grant whilst undertaking full-time studies in learning disabilities.
Concessionary members enjoy the same benefits as full members.
Affiliate Membership
This is open to professional and charitable organisations connected with learning disability services.
Bands and benefits:
Fewer than 50 employees - £62.50 per annum (inc VAT)
- 3 copies of the quarterly journal
- Reduced fees for up to 3 employees on any educational event
- 5% discount on APLD publications
- Advance details of all APLD activities
Over 50 employees - £125 per annum (inc VAT)
- 6 copies of the quarterly journal
- Reduced fees for up to 6 employees on any educational event
- 5% discount on APLD publications
- Advance details of all APLD activities
Library Membership - £25 per annum (inc VAT)
This is open to those organisations who only wish to subscribe to receive one copy of the quarterly journal. No other benefits are applicable.
